Mohsin Naqvi, the interim Chief Minister of Punjab, has given his consent in principle for the implementation of the ‘Safe City Project’ in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala utilising local resources. 

He emphasised the importance of these projects as vital components of smart cities and the necessity to start them as soon as possible.


The goal of expanding the scope of the safe city initiative to other cities is to improve public safety and build a better sense of security among inhabitants. He argued that completing the project within the specified time limit is critical. 


According to the sources, a complete evaluation of the matters connected to the safe city project in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala took conducted during a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s office.

 

The Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board gave a presentation on the locally produced system, emphasizing that software development would be carried out utilising the safe city authority’s machine learning approach, facilitating facial recognition capabilities. 

Furthermore, when chairing a meeting, the CM requested immediate efforts to improve hospital security. Urban clinics in five cities, including Lahore, were determined to be revitalised and renovated. 


The CM also highlighted the importance of hospitals improving their hygiene standards and providing necessary amenities like air conditioning, fans, and functional water coolers. He also highlighted the significance of utilising private anesthesiologists at district and tehsil headquarters hospitals. 


The meeting also discussed measures to improve the universal health insurance programme, with attendees notified of upcoming administrative changes to better assist those in need.
