Local fishermen in Gwadar, Balochistan, unintentionally caught a rare, over 2-tonne sunfish usually found in the deep sea.

According to the details, what Gwadar fishermen unintentionally caught in their traps last week left them in shock. According to media reports, the fishermen landed a rare fish known as a “Sunfish.”

The Senate requested last month that the federal government build fisheries storage facilities in Gwadar to prevent poor fishermen from being forced to sell their catch to international trawlers.

During a hearing of the Senate Standing Committee on Commerce, chaired by Senator Zeeshan Khanzada, Senator Danesh Kumar brought up the subject of illegal fisheries smuggling within Balochistan.

He explained to the committee that local fishermen are forced to sell their catch to international trawlers because of a lack of storage space and technology.

In this regard, the committee’s chairman, senator Zeeshan Khanzada, commanded that information on this problem be gathered from institutions and governments in the provinces and suggested that it be brought to the committee to formulate a strategy.

moreover, the media reported that the fisherman recently caught “Sowa,” a rare fish in the Gulf of Oman. The fish, which cost Rs 13.58 million and weighed 48.5 kg, was auctioned off in the market.

The fisherman claimed he was fishing at sea, as he did every day when he noticed that a sizable fish had been trapped in his net. After more research, Suva was identified as a fish.

After becoming a billionaire with a single catch, he expressed happiness even though the event attracted a sizable crowd hoping to see the uncommon fish.

The price of the biggest croaker fish was Rs. 500,000, while the smaller ones are anticipated to fetch about Rs. 100,000.

The catch, made with bottom-set gillnets, made the boat’s captain, Sajad Umer, ecstatic. He has already made Rs. 800,000 from selling rare fish daily.
