Balochistan Allocates Rs 5.8 Billion For Health Card Program

The Balochistan Health Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a renowned private insurance business to begin a widely anticipated healthcare project in the province. 

More than?two million families will benefit from the newly implemented health card programme in Balochistan. “Without a doubt, this is a revolution in the health sector in this province,” Balochistan Health Minister Syed Ehsan Shah said. 


Asfandyar Khan, Balochistan Secretary of Health, Noorul Haq Baloch, Programme Manager Health Card, Asadullah Khan Kakar, and other authorities attended the occasion. 


The health minister said that the contract reached with State Life Insurance about the health card is a welcome and beneficial move towards strengthening health services. He added that the government’s first focus is the health sector.


Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has specifically asked that the issuance of health cards be prioritised. 


Moreover, the minister further stated that this programme will assist all Balochistan residents, regardless of whether they live in a hut, a rough mountain village, or in coastal locations. 


He stated that they will receive free treatment worth up to Rs10 lakh while reiterating his promise to launch a formal health card within two months, as well as establishing a formal information centre in each hospital on the panel. 


He emphasised the importance of the media in promoting this historic event and raising public awareness about this institution. 


In addition, Chairman BRA Noorul Haq Baloch stated that the health card is a vital social security programme for the people of the province. Earlier, the Balochistan Endowment Fund offered Rs8 billion in support to sufferers, he said, adding that the health card will benefit persons living in distant locations.
