Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unveiled a special package designed to provide significant support to overseas Pakistanis, addressing the various challenges they encounter

This package introduces new incentives for non-resident Pakistanis (NRPs) and comprises several measures aimed at resolving key issues faced by this vital community. To address property matters, the government is establishing hotlines under the Chief Secretaries in provinces and the Chief Commissioner in Islamabad. Additionally, special courts will be set up in both Islamabad and all provinces, expediting property issue resolutions for NRPs.

In the realm of housing schemes, a notable 10% quota will be reserved for Overseas Pakistanis in public-sector housing projects. Furthermore, an extra 5% discount will be offered for payments made via foreign currency and banking channels, making housing more accessible for overseas Pakistanis.

In a move to replicate successful initiatives, the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (POPC) model will be extended to other provinces, enhancing support for overseas Pakistanis across the country. To streamline the process at international airports, special counters will be designated for NRPs, ensuring smoother entry and assistance upon arrival.

The package also includes acknowledgments and facilities, with the top ten remitters among Overseas Pakistanis receiving honors and a Hall of Fame established in Pakistan Missions to recognize exceptional overseas Pakistanis.

To provide better financial options, the Central Directorate of National Savings will offer National Saving Schemes with favorable interest rates specifically designed for Overseas Pakistanis.

To simplify administrative processes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will enhance online attestation for documents, and camp offices by MOFA will be established in areas with a significant overseas Pakistani population to offer efficient document services.

Biometric verification will be made more accessible through online methods for pension, bank accounts, and property transactions. Furthermore, NADRA will be linked to Union Councils to facilitate the issuance of certificates.
