Pakistan’s newest private airline Fly Jinnah has started it’s flight operations with an inaugural flight from Karachi to Islamabad.

Pakistan’s new low-cost carrier (LCC) launched on October 31 after receiving its Air Operator Certificate and Air Operating Licence earlier this month.

Fly Jinnah has confirmed its initial domestic network and rolled out its launch plans. The airline will commence scheduled passenger services from its Karachi base to each of Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, and Islamabad.

The new airline is starting operations with a fleet of three Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 174 seats, “SkyTime”, a free in-flight streaming service and on-board “SkyCafe” menu with a variety of snacks, sandwiches, hot meals & beverages.

Fly Jinnah announced it had acquired its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and Air Operating License (AOL), which will enable the airline to start its operation from Karachi International Airport as the country’s fifth private carrier.

Acquiring the AOC and AOL approves that the airline has fulfilled all the professional capabilities, follows all safety regulations, and was safe and secure to operate as a passenger and cargo airline after the completion of several rigorous inspections to be done by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) in which Fly Jinnah followed all technical and operational requirements set by PCAA, according to a statement issued by the airline.

Moreover, Fly Jinnah will continue to closely coordinate with the Civil Aviation Authority to decide the date for launching the airline operations, the statement added.

In this regard, Fly Jinnah Chairman Iqbal Ali Lakhani stated:

“We are proud to achieve the first milestone in building Fly Jinnah’s history. A lot of hard work has been put into achieving this outcome, thanks to our partners at Arabia Group, all the airline staff, and the various divisions for ensuring all PCAA regulatory safety standards and requirements are met. We look forward to launching Fly Jinnah’s operations, serving the strategic vision of Pakistan’s travel and tourism sector, and contributing to the country’s economic growth and job creation, while also providing Pakistanis with reliable and value-for-money air travel.”

“Today marks the start of a new chapter in Fly Jinnah’s young journey. This milestone reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest possible safety standards across airline operations while providing the highest value to all our customers. We thank the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority for their support throughout the entire process of obtaining the AOC and we are confident that “Fly Jinnah” will add significant value to the air transport sector of Pakistan. We look forward to welcoming our first customer on board fly Jinnah soon,” remarked Air Arabia Group Chief Executive Officer Adel Al Ali.
