Central Hospital Karachi Will Be Constructed At A Cost Of Rs 4 Billion

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Local Government, said that the Central Hospital Karachi would be built in Federal B Area at the cost of Rs4,000 million, with the cooperation of the Sindh government. 

He highlighted that the Sindh government is implementing emergency steps for the construction and development of Karachi under the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, ensuring the supply of basic rights to its inhabitants.


The statement was made at an event when the foundation stone for the Central Hospital Karachi was set, which was attended by various significant personalities. 


According to the minister, the hospital would have six storeys, including a basement and four towers. It will include a?general hospital, cardiology ward, emergency, trauma centre,?gynaecology, and paediatric emergency medical services. 


Moreover, a nursing school and community centre will also be built on the hospital grounds. He said the building will be done in stages, with the first phase costing Rs1,000 million. 


in February, the Sindh government teamed with the country’s biggest healthcare charity to create a 1,350-bed hospital in Karachi’s Korangi neighbourhood to provide free treatment for people from vulnerable communities. 


Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah made the announcement at the inauguration of a blood transfusion services facility at the Indus Hospital, Karachi’s biggest charitable health centre. The Sindh government and the Indus Facility and Health Network (IHHN) will build the facility on a 20-acre plot of land for Rs24 billion over five years. 


The Sindh?government will cover half of the hospital’s building costs. 


In addition, the CM asked the IHHN administration to complete the?construction of the new hospital as soon as possible, preferably within three years, in order to meet the critical essential medical requirements of the province’s underprivileged people. 


He pledged that there would be no delay in the distribution of money from his government for the hospital’s early completion.
