The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has recently disclosed the successful recovery of approximately 750 kanals of its land in Sectors I-12/1, I-12/2, and I-12/3, as part of their ongoing efforts to combat illegal land occupation in Islamabad. This initiative was undertaken following directives from CDA Chairman Captain (r) Anwar ul Haq, who has emphasized the need for a rigorous crackdown on encroachments across the federal capital.

To address the issue, the CDA Enforcement Directorate collaborated with various governmental departments and initiated a concerted effort to address an unauthorized Afghan settlement near NUST in Sector I-12. This comprehensive operation involved the utilization of heavy machinery, resulting in the demolition of makeshift structures and livestock enclosures that had been erected without legal authorization.

The 750 kanals of land that have been successfully reclaimed will be earmarked for various developmental projects in the future. It’s important to note that the anti-encroachment operation wasn’t limited to Sector I-12 alone.

The operation extended to various other areas in Islamabad, including Simly Dam Road, Karnal Sher Khan Avenue, Mandi Mor, Margalla Town Phase-2, and Murree Road. The scope of the operation also encompassed the removal of encroachments and obstructions along public walkways on both sides of these major thoroughfares.

The CDA’s efforts to recover illegally occupied land and address encroachments reflect its commitment to reclaiming public property for future development and urban planning projects. Such actions are essential in maintaining the integrity of land use, ensuring the provision of public services, and enhancing the overall livability and aesthetics of the federal capital.

The rigorous stance on encroachments and unauthorized settlements is intended to ensure that urban development in Islamabad aligns with established regulatory guidelines and serves the best interests of the city’s residents and the nation as a whole.
