In a promising development, Amna Mustabeen Baig recently has become the first Pakistani woman to be a part of a prestigious Swedish hypercar brand, Koenigsegg.
The company is well-known for making some of the worldÂ’s fastest accelerating and technologically complex sports cars such as Agera, Regera, J CCX, Esko, as well as its upcoming three-cylinder hypercar, Gemera.
Previously, Amna had also worked with Swedish truckmakers Volvo and Scania. She has two MasterÂ’s degrees from the UK; one in business management and the other in supply chain management.
After achieving this milestone, Amna has become a member of the elite club of Pakistan-born individuals to work with globally coveted prestigious carmakers.
Other Pakistan-Born Auto Industry Gurus
Prior to this, Farrukh Kamran became the first Pakistani man to join Koenigsegg. The UET Alumnus has taken the position of design engineer at the company. Kamran will have the responsibility of making cars quicker, more stable, nimble, and better overall in terms of road and track performance.
While joining the company, Kamran showed his excitement by stating “I am excited that I have joined Koenigsegg Automotive AB as a Manufacturing Engineer. It is time to say goodbye to my awesome colleagues at Elonroad AB. Together we have made a fantastic journey to electrify the roads and I had the amazing opportunity to work with a great team.”
Moreover, Karachi-born NED Alumnus Sajjad Khan has left his position as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Mercedes-Benz to join Porsche AG. The German sports carmaker said that Khan will head its automotive technology division.
Currently, Porsche is a subsidiary of Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG), which suggests that, by extension, Khan will also assume an advisory role for all car companies that fall under VAGÂ’s massive umbrella.
