During a recent extensive site visit to the Khasaleha Khurd area, Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha received a comprehensive briefing on the progress and pace of work on the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project. This significant infrastructure project is poised to include five interchanges at strategic locations, namely Banth, Chak Beli Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian, along its 38.3-kilometer length.

Additionally, the RRR development encompasses the construction of a railway bridge, five flyovers, and an impressive array of 21 small underpasses. These elements are expected to enhance overall connectivity and transportation infrastructure in the region.

The RRR project’s initial construction phase commenced near Chakri Road, where the district administration had already secured the necessary land. However, the acquisition of land for other sections of the RRR remains pending. Commissioner Chattha expressed optimism about the project’s rapid progress, confidently asserting that the Rawalpindi Ring Road would be completed within a year.

Furthermore, the development plan incorporates the establishment of an industrial zone along the Ring Road. Chattha emphasized that this industrial zone would act as a catalyst for economic development and employment opportunities, benefiting the entire region.

To expedite the land acquisition process, a senior district administration official (whose identity was not disclosed) revealed plans for an independent validation survey of land. Additionally, the provincial government has committed to releasing PKR 4 billion for the project.

Work has already commenced on a 10-kilometer stretch of land currently under the administration’s possession, further signaling the project’s progress and commitment to improving transportation and connectivity infrastructure in the region. The Rawalpindi Ring Road project is set to play a pivotal role in enhancing regional development and economic growth.

The Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project, with its five strategic interchanges and infrastructure enhancements, promises to significantly boost transportation connectivity in the region. Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha’s confidence in the project’s timely completion and the creation of an industrial zone underscores its potential to drive economic development and job opportunities for the entire area.
