In response to the recent announcement by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has revised the registration fees for older Apple iPhone models, aiming to align with the FBR’s amendments.

The PTA’s new fee structure includes adjustments for two distinct categories: registration based on passports and registration based on CNICs (Computerized National Identity Cards).

For instance, the registration fee for an iPhone 8, when registering with a passport, has been revised to Rs. 38,922. Conversely, the fee for registering the same iPhone 8 model using a CNIC has been adjusted to Rs. 48,314.

Similarly, for the iPhone 8 Plus, the registration fee now stands at Rs. 40,951 for passport-based registration and Rs. 50,546 for CNIC-based registration.

These revisions in registration charges stem from the FBR’s recent amendments, reflecting changes in the overall process of iPhone device registration in Pakistan. The adjustments made by the PTA are in accordance with the FBR’s directives, and they are expected to influence how individuals go about registering their older Apple iPhone devices in the country.

The decision by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to modify the registration fees for older Apple iPhone models is part of an ongoing effort to streamline and regulate the registration process for mobile devices in Pakistan.

These adjustments are aimed at ensuring compliance with the FBR’s taxation and regulatory requirements while also providing transparency and clarity to iPhone users in the country. As the technology landscape evolves, such regulatory refinements become essential to accommodate changing tax structures and to facilitate a smoother experience for consumers in Pakistan who continue to use older iPhone models.

Furthermore, these revisions in registration fees reflect the government’s commitment to create a fair and structured environment for the registration of mobile devices, promoting responsible ownership and taxation.?
