Shehroze Kashif, the record-breaking Pakistani mountaineer, has achieved a remarkable feat by successfully scaling the “true summit” of Mount Manaslu, the world’s 8th-highest peak, standing at 8,163 meters

At the age of 21, Shehroze, hailing from Lahore, reached the highest point of Manaslu at 5:01 AM PKT on a Wednesday morning, a triumphant moment confirmed by his father Kashif Salman. This accomplishment also earned him the distinction of being the youngest Pakistani to conquer the “true summit” of Manaslu.

This ascent marked Shehroze’s second climb of Mount Manaslu, located in the Nepalese Himalayas. His initial climb took place in September 2021, but it was later discovered that the actual summit point, known as the “true summit,” was a few meters beyond the previously identified spot.

Despite receiving certification from mountaineering authorities in Nepal for his initial climb, Shehroze made the decision not to include it in his record.

Instead, he embarked on a journey to Mount Manaslu once more, determined to reach the true summit. Shehroze returned to Mount Manaslu just last week, commencing his expedition on a Sunday night. He initiated the final push on the night before and successfully reached the peak in the early morning.

Notably, Shehroze Kashif holds the distinction of being the world’s youngest climber to summit 12 out of the 14 eight-thousanders. His next objectives include scaling the 8,188-meter Cho Oyu, the world’s 6th highest mountain, and the 8,027-meter
