In addition, the minister requested financial assistance from a World Bank delegation to fund 300 electric buses for the large metropolis.

He suggested during a discussion with a World Bank delegation, which included Practice Manager for Transport Shomik Mehndiratta and Senior Transport Specialist Hassan Zaidi, on the Karachi BRT Yellow Line in his office.

The minister continued by saying that the Sindh government was working to modernize the public transportation system and that this industry had appealing investment prospects for foreign investors since the provincial government was eager to give them the best facilities.

Moreover, the BRT Yellow Line’s development was also discussed at the meeting. The World Bank delegation accepted Memon’s suggestion to conduct a collaborative survey on the BRT Yellow Line’s route.

In his presentation to the delegation, the project director for the BRT Yellow Line stated that the line would cost $438 million to construct and that a 21-kilometer dedicated corridor would be built between Dawood Chowrangi and Numaish Chowrangi for this mass transit service.

Starting from Dawood Chowrangi in the Korangi Industrial Area, the route would travel over Jam Sadiq Bridge, across Main Korangi Road, the FTC Interchange, Sharae Faisal, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, and Kashmir Road Interchange before joining the BRT Red Line at Numaish Chowrangi.
