Chairman Noor ul Amin Mengal of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has unveiled ambitious plans to rejuvenate Islamabad in a recent tweet from his official Twitter handle. These initiatives encompass a range of transformative projects aimed at enhancing the city’s overall quality of life.

One noteworthy undertaking involves the long-overdue clearance of solid waste along the Islamabad Expressway (IJP). This crucial task, which has been neglected for many years, signifies the CDA’s commitment to improving the cleanliness and aesthetics of the capital city.

Chairman Mengal’s vision is to address the persistent issue of waste accumulation, thereby creating a healthier and more visually appealing environment for both residents and visitors.

Additionally, the CDA’s plan to introduce service lanes on both sides of the IJP demonstrates a proactive approach to traffic management. By facilitating a smoother flow of vehicles, this development is expected to alleviate congestion and enhance the commuting experience for motorists navigating the bustling expressway.

Furthermore, the CDA intends to install eight pedestrian bridges at strategic locations along the IJP. These bridges will serve to promote pedestrian safety and convenience while simultaneously enhancing the city’s urban infrastructure. They will provide secure and efficient means for pedestrians to traverse the busy thoroughfare, contributing to a more pedestrian-friendly environment.

In a significant move towards sustainable transportation, Chairman Mengal has announced the impending launch of an electric bus service, scheduled to commence operations by June. This initiative aligns with the global trend toward eco-friendly mobility solutions and underscores the CDA’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and addressing climate change.

Collectively, these initiatives represent a holistic approach to urban development, with a focus on cleanliness, traffic management, pedestrian safety, and sustainable transportation. Chairman Mengal’s vision seeks to transform Islamabad into a more vibrant, modern, and environmentally responsible city for its residents and visitors to enjoy.
