This occurs subsequent to Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), proposing his brother Shehbaz Sharif to be the next prime minister of Pakistan.

Omar Ayub Khan, the secretary general of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was named by the party on Thursday as its candidate for prime minister. Following his brother Shehbaz Sharif’s nomination as Pakistan’s prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), made this announcement. He has proposed his daughter Maryam Nawaz to be the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Omar Ayub Khan, an independent candidate supported by the PTI, won the National Assembly constituency NA-18 in Haripur with 192,948 votes. The Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate Babar Nawaz Khan received 112,389 votes, placing him in second place in the Returning Officer/ECP’s unofficial results.

Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, is the leader of the PTI and is incarcerated due to legal problems. Social media platform X was the venue for PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb’s announcement. Nawaz Sharif praised the leaders of all political parties as well as the people of Pakistan for their political support, the statement said.

Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has nominated Maryam Nawaz Sharif to be Punjab’s chief minister and Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to be the prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. While expressing gratitude to the people of Pakistan and the leaders of all the political parties that have supported him politically, Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has stated that he firmly believes that these decisions will free Pakistan from economic risks and inflation for its citizens, according to Aurangzeb.

According to a report in The Express Tribune, earlier today, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif declared that Nawaz Sharif will be the party’s nominee for prime minister and Maryam Nawaz would run for chief minister of Punjab.

The mandate for the elections in Pakistan is fragmented. Independent candidates supported by the PTI have taken 92 seats in the National Assembly, ahead of the PML-N with 79 and the PPP with 54.
