Cement Sales Decline By 24% As Construction Activities Slow Down

According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) on Monday, the sale of cement came down by 24 percent to 3.795 million tons during the month of March this year as compared to 5.006 million tons during the same month, last year.


 

The cement export, however, increased by 48.46 percent during March to 438,433 tons as compared to 295,321 tons during March 2022.


In the Northern region, the sale of cement in March 2023 came down by 28.22 percent to 2.82 million tons against the sale of 3.929 million tons during this month last year. 
 


The Sales of the South region touched the figure of 974,467 tons, down by 9.48 percent compared to the sale in March 2022.


The north-based cement factories sold 2.72 million tons in the domestic market during March, down by 29.33 percent sales of cement by this region during the same month last year. 


The factories of the Southern region sold 636,465 ton during the month, under consideration, compared to the sale of a product which stood at 861,742 tons in this month last year.


The factories of the North region exported 100,431 tons of cement during March 2023 compared to 80,584 tons of cement during March 2022. The cement plants in South region exported 338,002 tons of the product during March 2023 as compared to the export of 214,737 tons of cement exports in March 2022.
