Cda Yet To Give Possession Of I-15 Plots Even After 18 Years

Despite the passing of an additional year, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) continues to face challenges in granting possession to the allottees of Sector I-15, leaving many individuals waiting for their plots to be allocated

These allottees have been eagerly anticipating ownership of their plots for several years, with hopes of progressing with their future plans. Under the leadership of Chairman CDA Capitan (r) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, the current management has encountered obstacles in the development of Sector I-15.

This situation serves as a clear reflection of the struggles they have been grappling with. Although the allocation of plots in Sector I-15 occurred back in 2005, the development activities have remained at a standstill due to various reasons.

City officials initially assured the public that possession handovers to plot owners would begin in June 2022. Later, in November 2022, the CDA announced ambitious plans for the Prime Minister to present possession letters to a select group of allottees during a formal ceremony.

The CDA website even published a list of around 3,000 plots prepared for possession in the subsectors of I-15. However, these plans have failed to materialize as expected.

Approximately one hundred individuals who had applied for possession in this sector are now left disappointed, as they have yet to receive ownership of their plots in accordance with the authority’s original plans.

The delay in granting possession, according to CDA officials, is primarily attributed to unresolved service-related issues. However, there is a potential solution on the horizon.

The CDA is exploring the possibility of partnering with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) to facilitate possession transfers through online coordination, a departure from the conventional manual procedures. While this presents a potential solution, it also implies an indefinite additional waiting period for those eagerly awaiting their plots.
