Mohsin Naqvi, the caretaker of the Punjab Chief Minister, has ordered?that urgent angiography and stenting services be made available to heart patients in nine public hospitals. To make sure that these patients receive immediate?and efficient treatment, a careful monitoring framework has been established.

The CM launched the primary angiography system?by pressing a button on the portal. When patients get to the hospital, the medical staff will start treatment right away and enter their data. Licensed specialists from the Pakistan Society of Intervention Cardiology (PSIC) will perform the angiography procedure.

During the discussion, the CM was informed that in the previous 37 days, 1695 patients received primary angiography treatments in government institutions. Each of the nine public hospitals receives 46 cardiac patients for basic angiography on average. A Drip and Shift System is being considered in order to provide cardiac patients with immediate?treatment in each tehsil.

A cardiac ambulance from Rescue 1122 will transport patients, while a community response crew will give?first-aid treatment in each village.

The CM also emphasized the importance of prompt transport to the hospital in order to save the life of a cardiac patient with?chest discomfort. He oversaw a study of the expansion of the primary angiography system to include more institutions.

Earlier, the Syndicate of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) approved the authorization of two new medical institutions, one dental college, and 13 nursing institutions, in addition to an increase in the number of MBBS and BDS seats at ten affiliated medical and dental colleges.

This decision was made after the federal regulator approved seat expansion. The UHS syndicate’s meeting was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Dr Ahsan Waheed Rathore.

In addition to Niazi Medical and Dental College Sargodha for 50 BDS seats, the syndicate awarded affiliation to two new medical colleges, RLKU Medical and Dental College Lahore and Akhtar Saeed Medical College Rawalpindi. There are 11 government-run nursing colleges and two privately funded nursing colleges among the 13 recognised nursing colleges.
