حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ رَوْحِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْالرُّبَيِّعِ، قَالَتْ: أَتَانِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَسَأَلَنِي عَنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ؟ تَعْنِي حَدِيثَهَا الَّذِي ذَكَرَتْ: أَنَّ ّرَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: إِنَّ النَّاسَ أَبَوْا إِلَّا الْغَسْلَ، وَلَا أَجِدُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْمَسْحَ.
ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میرے پاس ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما آئے، اور انہوں نے مجھ سے اس حدیث کے بارے میں پوچھا، اس سے وہ اپنی وہ حدیث مراد لے رہی تھیں جس میں انہوں نے ذکر کیا ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے وضو کیا، اور اپنے دونوں پیر دھوئے، ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا کہ لوگ پاؤں کے دھونے ہی پر مصر ہیں جب کہ میں قرآن کریم میں پاؤں کے صرف مسح کا حکم پاتا ہوں ۱؎۔
It was narrated that Rubai' said: Ibn 'Abbas came to me and asked me about this Hadith meaning the Hadith, that she had narrated, saying that the Messenger of Allah performed ablution and washed his feet. Ibn 'Abbas said: 'The people are insisting on washing their feet, but I do not find anything in the Qur'an except (the injunction to) wipe them.'
