حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أنبأنا إِسْرَائِيلُ، أخبرنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْرِضُ نَفْسَهُ عَلَى النَّاسِ فِي الْمَوْقِفِ، فَقَالَ: أَلَا رَجُلٌ يَحْمِلُنِي إِلَى قَوْمِهِ، فَإِنَّ قُرَيْشًا قَدْ مَنَعُونِي أَنْ أُبَلِّغَ كَلَامَ رَبِّي .
جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خود کو موقف ( عرفات میں ٹھہرنے کی جگہ ) میں لوگوں پر پیش کرتے تھے اور فرماتے: کیا کوئی ایسا شخص نہیں ہے جو مجھے اپنی قوم کے پاس لے چلے، قریش نے مجھے میرے رب کا کلام پہنچانے سے روک دیا ہے ۱؎ ۔
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم presented himself to the people at Arafat, saying: Is there any man who takes me to his people? The Quraysh have prevented me from preaching the word of my Lord.

Abdullah bin Ka;b bin Malik who used to lead his father from among his sons when he became blind, said: I heard Kaab bin Malik say: The transmitter Ibn al-sarh then narrated the story of his remaining behind from the prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم forbade the Muslims to speak to any of us three. When ( in this state) abundant time passed on me, I ascended the wall of the garden of Abu Qatadah who was my cousin. I saluted him, but, I swear by Allah, he did not return salute to me. He then narrated the story of the revelation of the Quranic verses relating to his repentance.
