حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْمَعْنَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، سَمِعَ طَاوُسًا، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يُخْبِرُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: احْتَجَّ آدَمُ، وَمُوسَى، فَقَالَ مُوسَى: يَا آدَمُ أَنْتَ أَبُونَا خَيَّبْتَنَا وَأَخْرَجْتَنَا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ، فَقَالَ آدَمُ: أَنْتَ مُوسَى اصْطَفَاكَ اللَّهُ بِكَلَامِهِ، وَخَطَّ لَكَ التَّوْرَاةَ بِيَدِهِ تَلُومُنِي عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَدَّرَهُ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَنِي بِأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، فَحَجَّ آدَمُ، مُوسَى ، قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ: عَنْعَمْرٍو، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ.
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: آدم اور موسیٰ نے بحث کی تو موسیٰ نے کہا: اے آدم! آپ ہمارے باپ ہیں، آپ ہی نے ہمیں محرومی سے دو چار کیا، اور ہمیں جنت سے نکلوایا، آدم نے کہا: تم موسیٰ ہو تمہیں اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنی گفتگو کے لیے چن لیا، اور تمہارے لیے تورات کو اپنے ہاتھ سے لکھا، تم مجھے ایسی بات پر ملامت کرتے ہو جسے اس نے میرے لیے مجھے پیدا کرنے سے چالیس سال پہلے ہی لکھ دیا تھا، پس آدم موسیٰ پر غالب آ گئے ۱؎۔
Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: Adam and Moses held a disputation. Moses said: Adam you are our father. You deprived us and caused us to come out from Paradise. Adam said: You are Moses Allah chose you for his speech and wrote the Torah for you with his hand. Do you blame me for doing a deed which Allah had decreed that I should do forty year before he created me? So Adam got the better of Moses in argument. Ahmad bin Salih said from Amr from Tawus who heard Abu Hurairah.

Ibn Yahya and Amr added in their version: “ There will appear among my community people who will be dominated by desires like rabies which penetrates its patient”, Amr’s version has: “penetrates its patient. There remains no vein and no joint but it penetrates it. ”

Abdullah bin Ka;b bin Malik who used to lead his father from among his sons when he became blind, said: I heard Kaab bin Malik say: The transmitter Ibn al-sarh then narrated the story of his remaining behind from the prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم forbade the Muslims to speak to any of us three. When ( in this state) abundant time passed on me, I ascended the wall of the garden of Abu Qatadah who was my cousin. I saluted him, but, I swear by Allah, he did not return salute to me. He then narrated the story of the revelation of the Quranic verses relating to his repentance.
