Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah)

سمرہ بن جندب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک شخص نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! میں نے دیکھا گویا کہ آسمان سے ایک ڈول لٹکایا گیا پہلے ابوبکر آئے تو اس کی دونوں لکڑیاں پکڑ کر اس میں سے تھوڑا سا پیا، پھر عمر آئے تو اس کی دونوں لکڑیاں پکڑیں اور انہوں نے خوب سیر ہو کر پیا، پھر عثمان آئے اور اس کی دونوں لکڑیاں پکڑیں اور خوب سیر ہو کر پیا، پھر علی آئے اور اس کی دونوں لکڑیاں پکڑیں، تو وہ چھلک گیا اور اس میں سے کچھ ان کے اوپر بھی پڑ گیا۔

Samurah bin Jundub told that a man said: Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم! I saw (in a dream) that a bucket was hung from the sky. Abu Bakr came, caught hold of both ends of its wooden handle, and drank a little of it. Next came Umar who caught hold of both ends of its wooden handle and drank of it to his fill. Next came Uthman who caught hold of both ends of its handle and drank of it to his fill. Next came ‘All. He caught hold of both ends of its handle, but it became upset and some (water) from it was sprinkled on him.
