حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جُنْدَبًا ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا يَقُولُ ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيْرَهُ ، فَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ سَمَّعَ ، سَمَّعَ اللَّهُ بِهِ ، وَمَنْ يُرَائِي ، يُرَائِي اللَّهُ بِهِ .

ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے یحییٰ نے بیان کیا، ان سے سفیان نے، کہا مجھ سے سلمہ بن کہیل نے بیان کیا۔ (دوسری سند) امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ نے کہا کہ ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سفیان نے بیان کیا، ان سے سلمہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے جندب رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا اور میں نے آپ کے سوا کسی کو یہ کہتے نہیں سنا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، چنانچہ میں ان کے قریب پہنچا تو میں نے سنا کہ وہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ( کسی نیک کام کے نتیجہ میں ) جو شہرت کا طالب ہو اللہ تعالیٰ اس کی بدنیتی قیامت کے دن سب کو سنا دے گا۔ اسی طرح جو کوئی لوگوں کو دکھانے کے لیے نیک کام کرے گا اللہ بھی قیامت کے دن اس کو سب لوگوں کو دکھلا دے گا۔

Narrated Jundub: The Prophet said, He who lets the people hear of his good deeds intentionally, to win their praise, Allah will let the people know his real intention (on the Day of Resurrection), and he who does good things in public to show off and win the praise of the people, Allah will disclose his real intention (and humiliate him).

Hadith 6416

Narrated Mujahid: `Abdullah bin `Umar said, Allah's Apostle took hold of my shoulder and said, 'Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler. The sub-narrator added: Ibn `Umar used to say, If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death.
