Haji Zubair Ali, Mayor of Peshawar, inaugurated several development projects in the historic Jahangirpura market. Tube wells, drainage lines, gas pipelines, and footpaths were among the projects built.

According to the details, Mayor Ali instructed concerned officials to expedite work on all projects and finalise them within the specified time frame without sacrificing the work quality.

He stated during his speech that the issue of water scarcity in the Jahangirpura market would be resolved as soon as possible for the convenience of traders.

Moreover, the mayor advised contractors to work on construction projects in double shifts to ensure that bazaar traders’ business was not disrupted during Ramadan.

During the event, business owners and traders informed the Mayor of their concerns about street crime, streetlights, and hanging electrical cables. Mayor Ali issued immediate orders to the police, PESCO, WSSP,?and other line departments.

The provincial leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, former provincial minister Maulana Amanullah Haqqani, Khidmat Hussain, Maulana Abdul Rauf Jan, elected local government representatives, presidents of different markets, and other social and political personalities attended the ceremony.

Last year Peshawar’s mayor announced the development of a residential colony for the government of the Capital Metropolitan.

Sources reported that the mayor also directed officials from the Capital Metropolitan Department to tour the city in search of a suitable location for a residential colony.

In addition, officials from the Capital Metropolitan Government have devised a strategy to determine the amount of space required for the colony.

The mayor noted that the community would have a mosque, school, pharmacy, tube well, and play area in addition to all of life’s necessities while promising that the initiative would be completed as soon as possible.

Earlier, he also said?that 800 Kanals of land would be acquired in two sites, Pir Zakori Bridge and Northern Bypass, to lessen an extra burden on the employees?by providing plots at an expense that would be taken from their housing subsidy.
