Social media images of Pakistan’s first Toyota Prius from 2024 have gone viral among online users. More than its aesthetics, the new Prius’ price has surprised auto enthusiasts.
A dealership in Karachi imported the vehicle, which has an astounding price tag of around Rs. 20 million (2 crores), claims an Instagram user. For comparison, the price of a Toyota Fortuner Sigma 4 is slightly over Rs. 19 million.
The new Prius is a far nicer-looking and more effective car as compared to the previous model. Its exterior looks to have been inspired by modern sports vehicles, with a sleek front end, a sloping roofline, and big wheels.
A high-efficiency Dynamic Force Engine and lithium-ion batteries are combined to provide 221 horsepower (hp) in the new Prius, which has Toyota’s first 2.0-liter Plug-in Hybrid System. The manufacturer says that this engine enables the automobile to go from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6.7 seconds.
Along with other advanced technologies, the 2024 Prius is stocked with Toyota SafetySense. Despite these advantages, the price on the foreign market ranges from Rs. 7.8 million to Rs. 10.2 million.
Because of this, a price premium of over Rs. 10 million has generated a lot of discussion in Pakistan.
