Rafiq Ahmed Jamali, the Chairman of the Gorakh Hills Development Authority (GHDA), has provided an extensive overview of the ongoing development initiatives at Gorakh Hills-Dadu, with a strong focus on enhancing the tourism experience while ensuring safety, as reported on August 24.

Jamali’s statement highlights significant progress made over the past nine years, with a substantial investment of PKR 3 billion allocated to the GHDA for a diverse array of development projects. These endeavors encompass a wide spectrum of amenities and infrastructure enhancements, all aimed at creating a welcoming and secure environment for tourists.

Among the key initiatives undertaken are the establishment of crucial infrastructure elements like road networks, rest houses, family resorts, tourist hostels, restaurants, mosques, dispensaries, and recreational facilities. These additions collectively contribute to elevating the overall experience for visitors.

A standout achievement in the region is the construction of a 35-kilometer road from Wahi Pandhi Town, representing an investment of PKR 1,000 million. This strategically placed road not only improves accessibility but also significantly enhances the safety of travel for tourists.

To further enrich the tourist experience, interconnected roads have been developed, connecting different viewpoints and ensuring seamless movement throughout the area.

The accommodations have been thoughtfully designed, featuring six furnished duplex family resorts, an 8-room tourist hostel, a PD rest house, a fibreglass rest house, and well-appointed huts. These lodging options are complemented by essential amenities, including mosques, event spaces, restaurants, tuck shops, cricket grounds, and children’s play areas.

Energy sustainability has been addressed through the integration of solar power systems in power huts, resorts, and restaurants. Moreover, a dispensary is now operational in the vicinity, providing medical assistance staffed by qualified medical professionals.

The GHDA Chairman reiterates his unwavering commitment to transforming Gorakh Hill Station into a premier tourist destination in Pakistan, particularly for the people of Sindh.

These continuous efforts are poised to create a remarkable and secure tourism hub that offers relaxation and adventure amidst the stunning natural beauty of the region.
