Google To Offer 44,500 Scholarships To Pakistanis For Online Courses

Google has announced that it will provide 44,500 scholarships for Pakistani students who are interested in learning digital skills that are in high demand. These scholarships will enable students to take courses as part of Google Career Certificates (GCC), which was launched last year. 

The company made the announcement at an event attended by Pakistan’s IT and Telecommunications Minister Syed Aminul Haque. 


According to Google, these initiatives are designed to help create equal opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to access digital skills and job opportunities. Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Pakistan Country Director, stated that the company is committed to helping build an inclusive digital economy in Pakistan through its programs, products, and services. 


Google has also added three more courses to the GCC program, including Business Intelligence, Advanced Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity. 


?The company aims to help people acquire online qualifications for jobs that are in demand, have high growth potential, and offer good salaries. 


During the event, Mr. Haque expressed his ministry’s full support for Google’s efforts to equip Pakistanis with digital skills through the GCC programs. He said that this initiative aligns with the ministry’s vision of creating an ecosystem that enables the potential of the digital economy and provides equal opportunities to all Pakistanis. 


?Mr. Haque also commended Google’s focus on distributing 50% of the scholarships to women. 


Several students who have completed GCC courses shared their experiences at the event. Iqra Malik, who completed the Data Analyst certification, said that it transformed her life and provided her with valuable new skills that helped her become a freelancer and move towards financial stability. 


?Saif Ullah, a digital marketing graduate from Lahore, said that GCC had a significant impact on his life, both personally and professionally, and helped him identify a clear roadmap for his future career path.
