The Book Of Tayammum (Rubbing Hands And Feet With Dust)

عروہ بن زبیر اور عمرہ بنت عبدالرحمٰن کہتے ہیں کہ   ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف رضی اللہ عنہ کی بیوی ام حبیبہ بنت جحش رضی اللہ عنہا تھی، جو سات برس تک استحاضہ میں مبتلا رہیں، انہوں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کی شکایت کی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ حیض نہیں ہے، بلکہ ایک رگ کا خون ہے، جب حیض آئے تو نماز چھوڑ دو، اور جب ختم ہو جائے تو غسل کرو، اور نماز پڑھو ۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ وہ ہر نماز کے لیے غسل کرتیں پھر نماز پڑھتی تھیں، اور ام حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا اپنی بہن زینب بنت جحش رضی اللہ عنہا کے ایک ٹب میں بیٹھا کرتی تھیں یہاں تک کہ خون کی سرخی پانی کے اوپر آ جاتی ۱؎۔

It was narrated from 'Urwah bin Zubair and 'Amrah bint 'Abdur-Rahman that : 'Aishah the wife of the Prophet said: Umm Habibah Jahsh experienced prolonged non-menstrual bleeding for seven years when she was married to 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf. She complained about that to the Prophet and the Prophet said: 'That is not menstruation, rather it is a vein, so when the time of your period comes, leave the prayer, and when it is over, take a bath and perform prayer.' 'Aishah said: She used to bathe for every prayer and then perform the prayer. She used to sit in a washtub belonging to her sister Zainab bint Jahsh and the blood would turn the water red.
