Supplication

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں ایک خادم طلب کرنے کے لیے آئیں، تو آپ نے ان سے فرمایا: میرے پاس تو خادم نہیں ہے جو میں تجھے دوں ، ( یہ سن کر ) وہ واپس چلی گئیں، اس کے بعد آپ خود ان کے پاس تشریف لائے اور فرمایا: جو چیز تم نے طلب کی تھی وہ تمہیں زیادہ پسند ہے یا اس سے بہتر چیز تمہیں بتاؤں ؟ علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے کہا: تم کہو کہ نہیں، بلکہ مجھے وہ چیز زیادہ پسند ہے جو خادم سے بہتر ہو، چنانچہ فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے یہی کہا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم یہ کہا کرو «اللهم رب السموات السبع ورب العرش العظيم ربنا ورب كل شيء منزل التوراة والإنجيل والقرآن العظيم أنت الأول فليس قبلك شيء وأنت الآخر فليس بعدك شيء وأنت الظاهر فليس فوقك شيء وأنت الباطن فليس دونك شيء اقض عنا الدين وأغننا من الفقر» اے اللہ! ساتوں آسمانوں اور عرش عظیم کے رب! اور ہمارے رب اور ہر چیز کے رب، تورات، انجیل اور قرآن عظیم کو نازل کرنے والے! تو ہی اول ہے تجھ سے پہلے کوئی چیز نہیں تھی، تو ہی آخر ہے، تیرے بعد کوئی چیز نہیں ہو گی، تو ہی ظاہر ہے تیرے اوپر کوئی چیز نہیں، تو ہی باطن ہے تیرے ورے کوئی چیز نہیں، ہم سے ہمارا قرض ادا کر دے، اور محتاجی دور کر کے ہمیں غنی کر دے ۔

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: Fatimah came to the Prophet (saas) to ask him for a servant, and he said: 'I do not have anything to give you.' So she went back, but after that he came to her and said: 'Is what you asked for dearer to you, or something better than that?' 'Ali said to her: 'Say: something better than that.' So she said it. He said: 'Say: Allahumma Rabbas-samawatis-Sab'i wa Rabbal-'Arshil-'Azim, Rabbana wa Rabba Kulli shay'in, munzil at-Tawrati wal-Injili wal-Qur'anil-'Azim. Antal-Awwalu fa laysa qablaka shay', wa Antal-Akiru fa laysa ba'daka shay', Antaz-Zahiru fa laysa fawqaka shay', wa Antal-Batinu fa laysa dunaka shay', Iqdi 'annad-daina wa aghnina minal-faqr (O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Mighty Throne, Our Lord, and the Lord of Everything, Revealer of the Tawrah, the Injil and the Magnificent Qur'an. You are the First and there is nothing after You; You are the Last and there is nothing after You. You are the Most High, and there is nothing above You, and You are the Most Near and there is nothing nearer than You. Settle our debts and make us free of want).'
