حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَلِمَتَانِ خَفِيفَتَانِ عَلَى اللِّسَانِ،‏‏‏‏ ثَقِيلَتَانِ فِي الْمِيزَانِ،‏‏‏‏ حَبِيبَتَانِ إِلَى الرَّحْمَنِ،‏‏‏‏ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ،‏‏‏‏ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: دو کلمے زبان پر بہت ہلکے ہیں ۱؎، اور میزان میں بہت بھاری ہیں، اور رحمن کو بہت پسند ہیں ( وہ دو کلمے یہ ہیں ) «سبحان الله وبحمده سبحان الله العظيم» اللہ ( ہر عیب و نقص سے ) پاک ہے اور ہم اس کی تعریف بیان کرتے ہیں، عظیم ( عظمت والا ) اللہ ( ہر عیب و نقص ) سے پاک ہے ) ۱؎۔

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that : the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Two words which are light on the tongue and heavy in the Balance, and beloved to the Most Merciful: Subhan-Allah wa bi hamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-'Azim (Glory and praise is to Allah, glory is to Allah the Almighty).

And the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: A man will be raised in status in Paradise and will say: 'Where did this come from?' And it will be said:'From your son's praying for forgiveness for you.'
