حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي فَاخِتَةَ، حَدَّثَنِيهُبَيْرَةُ بْنُ يَرِيمَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَّهُ أُهْدِيَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حُلَّةٌ مَكْفُوفَةٌ بِحَرِيرٍ، إِمَّا سَدَاهَا، وَإِمَّا لَحْمَتُهَا فَأَرْسَلَ بِهَا إِلَيَّ فَأَتَيْتُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَا أَصْنَعُ بِهَا أَلْبَسُهَا، قَالَ: لَا وَلَكِنْ اجْعَلْهَا خُمُرًا بَيْنَ الْفَوَاطِمِ .
علی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں ایک ریشمی ( جوڑا ) تحفہ میں آیا جس کے تانے یا بانے میں ریشم ملا ہوا تھا، آپ نے وہ میرے پاس بھیج دیا، میں آپ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا، اور عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میں اس کا کیا کروں؟ کیا میں اسے پہنوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: نہیں، بلکہ اسے فاطماؤں کی اوڑھنیاں بنا دو ۱؎۔
It was narrated from ‘Ali that a two-piece suit hemmed with silk, either on the wrap or the weft,* was given to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he sent them to me (‘Ali). I came to him and said: “O Messenger of Allah, what should I do with these? Shall I wear them?” He said: “No, rather make them into head-cloths and give them to the Fatimahs.”**
