حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي: يَا بُنَيَّ، لَوْ شَهِدْتَنَا وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِذَا أَصَابَتْنَا السَّمَاءُ، لَحَسِبْتَ أَنَّ رِيحَنَا رِيحُ الضَّأْنِ .
ابوبردہ اپنے والد ابوموسیٰ اشعری سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میرے والد نے مجھ سے کہا: میرے بیٹے! کاش تم ہم کو اس وقت دیکھتے جب ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ تھے، جب ہم پر آسمان سے بارش ہوتی تو تم خیال کرتے کہ ہماری بو بھیڑ کی بو جیسی ہے ۱؎۔
It was narrated from Abu Burdah that his father said to him: “O my son, if only you could have seen us when we were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), when rain fell on us; you would have thought that we smelled like sheep.”
