حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْوَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ غُلَامًا فِي حِجْرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَتْ يَدِي تَطِيشُ فِي الصَّحْفَةِ، فَقَالَ لِي: يَا غُلَامُ سَمِّ اللَّهَ، وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ .
عمر بن ابی سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ میں بچہ تھا اور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زیر تربیت تھا، میرا ہاتھ پلیٹ میں چاروں طرف چل رہا تھا ۱؎، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے فرمایا: لڑکے! «بسم الله» کہو، دائیں ہاتھ سے کھاؤ، اور اپنے قریب سے کھاؤ۔
It was narrated from Wahb bin Kaisan that he heard ‘Umar bin Abu Salamah say: “I was a boy in the care of the Prophet (ﷺ) and my hand used to wander all over the plate. He said to me: ‘O boy! Say the Name of Allah, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is in front of you.’”

‘Abdullah bin Salam said: “When the Prophet (ﷺ) came to Al-Madinah, the people rushed to meet him, and it was said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has come! The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has come! The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has come!’ Three times. I came with the people to see him, and when I saw his face clearly, I knew that his face was not the face of a liar.
