حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، عَنْ الثَّوْرِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ: قَالَ جَابِرٌ: أَفَاضَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّكِينَةُ، وَأَمَرَهُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ وَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَرْمُوا بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ، وَأَوْضَعَ فِي وَادِي مُحَسِّرٍ، وَقَالَ: لِتَأْخُذْ أُمَّتِي نُسُكَهَا، فَإِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي لَعَلِّي لَا أَلْقَاهُمْ بَعْدَ عَامِي هَذَا .
جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم حجۃ الوداع میں مزدلفہ سے اطمینان کے ساتھ لوٹے، اور لوگوں کو بھی اطمینان کے ساتھ چلنے کا حکم دیا، اور حکم دیا کہ وہ ایسی کنکریاں ماریں جو دونوں انگلیوں کے درمیان آ سکیں، اور وادی محسر، میں آپ نے سواری کو تیز چلایا اور فرمایا: میری امت کے لوگ حج کے احکام سیکھ لیں، کیونکہ مجھے نہیں معلوم شاید اس سال کے بعد میں ان سے نہ مل سکوں ۱؎۔
Jabir said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) departed during the Farewell Pilgrimage in a tranquil manner, and he urged them to be tranquil. He told them to throw small pebbles. He hastened through Muhassir Valley, and said: ‘Let my nation learn its rites (of Hajj), for I do not know, perhaps I will not meet them again after this year.’”

They asked: ‘Is it every year?’ He said: ‘No. If I had said yes, it would have become obligatory.’ Then the following was revealed: “O you who believe! Ask not about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble.’” [5:101]
