حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عَزْرَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقُولُ: لَبَّيْكَ عَنْ شُبْرُمَةَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَنْ شُبْرُمَةُ؟ ، قَالَ: قَرِيبٌ لِي، قَالَ: هَلْ حَجَجْتَ قَطُّ؟ ، قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: فَاجْعَلْ هَذِهِ عَنْ نَفْسِكَ، ثُمَّ أحْجُجَّ عَنْ شُبْرُمَةَ .
عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کو «لبیک عن شبرمہ» حاضر ہوں شبرمہ کی طرف سے کہتے ہوئے سنا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: شبرمہ کون ہے ؟ اس نے بتایا: وہ میرا رشتہ دار ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: کیا تم نے کبھی حج کیا ہے ؟ اس نے کہا: نہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تو اس حج کو اپنی طرف سے کر لو، پھر ( آئندہ ) شبرمہ کی طرف سے کرنا ۱؎۔
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) heard a man saying: “Labbaik ‘an Shubrumah (Here I am (O Allah) on behalf of Shubrumah.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Who is Shubrumah?” He said: “A relative of mine.” He said: “Have you ever performed Hajj?” He said: “No.” He said: “Then make this for yourself, then perform Hajj on behalf of Shubrumah.”

They asked: ‘Is it every year?’ He said: ‘No. If I had said yes, it would have become obligatory.’ Then the following was revealed: “O you who believe! Ask not about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble.’” [5:101]
