حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الْبَتِّيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْأَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ أَبَوَيْهِ اخْتَصَمَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَدُهُمَا كَافِرٌ وَالْآخَرُ مُسْلِمٌ، فَخَيَّرَهُ فَتَوَجَّهَ إِلَى الْكَافِرِ فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِهِ . فَتَوَجَّهَ إِلَى الْمُسْلِمِ فَقَضَى لَهُ بِهِ.
رافع بن سنان رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ان کے ماں اور باپ دونوں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس جھگڑا لے گئے، ان میں سے ایک کافر تھے اور ایک مسلمان، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان ( رافع ) کو اختیار دیا ( کہ جس کے ساتھ جانا چاہیں جا سکتے ہیں ) وہ کافر کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دعا فرمائی: اے اللہ! اس کو ہدایت دے ، پھر وہ مسلمان کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسی ( مسلمان ) کے پاس ان کے رہنے کا فیصلہ فرما دیا۔
It was narrated from 'Abdul-Hamid bin Salamah, from his father, from his grandfather, that : his parents referred their dispute to the Prophet (ﷺ), and one of them was a disbeliever. He (the Prophet (ﷺ)) said: “O Allah, guide him,” and he turned towards the Muslim, and he ruled that he should go with that parent.
