حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْعَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا أَعْتَقَتْ بَرِيرَةَ، فَخَيَّرَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَ لَهَا زَوْجٌ حُرٌّ .
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ انہوں نے بریرہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو آزاد کر دیا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کو اختیار دے دیا، ( کہ وہ اپنے شوہر کے پاس رہیں یا اس سے جدا ہو جائیں ) اور ان کے شوہر آزاد تھے ۱؎۔
It was narrated from Aishah that: she freed Barirah and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave her the choice, and she (Barirah) had a free husband.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: I divorced my wife when she was menstruating. This is the waiting period that Allah has enjoined.'
