حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِنَّمَا آلَى لِأَنَّ زَيْنَبَ رَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِ هَدِيَّتَهُ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: لَقَدْ أَقْمَأَتْكَ فَغَضِبَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَآلَى مِنْهُنَّ .
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایلاء کیا، اس لیے کہ ام المؤمنین زینب رضی اللہ عنہا نے آپ کا بھیجا ہوا ہدیہ واپس کر دیا تھا، ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا: زینب نے آپ کی بےقدری کی ہے، یہ سن کر آپ غصہ ہوئے اور ان سب سے ایلاء کر لیا ۱؎۔
It was narrated from Aishah that: the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) swore to keep away from his wives, because Zainab had sent back her gift and 'Aishah said: She has disgraced you. He became angry and swore to keep away from them.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: I divorced my wife when she was menstruating. 'Umar mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah and he said: 'Tell him to take her back until she becomes pure (i.e., her period ends), then she has her period (again), then she becomes pure (again), then if he wishes he may divorce her before having sexual relations with her, and if he wishes he may keep her. This is the waiting period that Allah has enjoined.'
