حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: كَانَتْ حَبِيبَةُ بِنْتُ سَهْلٍ تَحْتَ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ، وَكَانَ رَجُلًا دَمِيمًا، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا مَخَافَةُ اللَّهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ لَبَصَقْتُ فِي وَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَتَرُدِّينَ عَلَيْهِ حَدِيقَتَهُ؟ ، قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، فَرَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِ حَدِيقَتَهُ، قَالَ: فَفَرَّقَ بَيْنَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ حبیبہ بنت سہل رضی اللہ عنہا ثابت بن قیس بن شماس رضی اللہ عنہما کے نکاح میں تھیں، وہ ناٹے اور بدصورت آدمی تھے، حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! اللہ کی قسم! اگر اللہ کا ڈر نہ ہوتا تو ثابت جب میرے پاس آئے تو میں ان کے منہ پر تھوک دیتی، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا تم ان کا باغ واپس لوٹا دو گی ؟ کہا: ہاں، اور ان کا باغ انہیں واپس دے دیا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان دونوں کے درمیان جدائی کرا دی۔
It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said: Habibah bint Sahl was married to Thabit bin Qais bin Shammas, who was an ugly man. She said: 'O Messenger of Allah, (ﷺ) by Allah, were it not for fear of Allah when he enters upon me I would spit in his face.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Will you give him back his garden?' She :said: 'Yes.' So she gave him back his garden and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) separated them.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: I divorced my wife when she was menstruating. 'Umar mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah and he said: 'Tell him to take her back until she becomes pure (i.e., her period ends), then she has her period (again), then she becomes pure (again), then if he wishes he may divorce her before having sexual relations with her, and if he wishes he may keep her. This is the waiting period that Allah has enjoined.'
