حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَنَحْنُ نُغَسِّلُ ابْنَتَهُ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ، فَقَالَ: اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ ذَلِكَ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ، وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ كَافُورًا أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ، فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُنَّ فَآذِنَّنِي ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغْنَا آذَنَّاهُ، فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حَقْوَهُ، وَقَالَ: أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ .
ام عطیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے پاس آئے، ہم آپ کی بیٹی ام کلثوم رضی اللہ عنہا کو غسل دے رہے تھے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: انہیں تین بار، یا پانچ بار، یا اس سے زیادہ اگر تم مناسب سمجھو تو پانی اور بیری کے پتے سے غسل دو ۱؎، اور اخیر بار کے غسل میں کافور یا کہا: تھوڑا سا کافور ملا لو، جب تم غسل سے فارغ ہو جاؤ تو مجھے خبر کرو ، لہٰذا جب ہم غسل سے فارغ ہوئے تو ہم نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو خبر کی، آپ نے اپنا تہبند ہماری طرف پھینکا اور فرمایا: اسے جسم سے متصل کفن میں سب سے نیچے رکھو ۲؎۔
Muhammad bin Sirin narrated that Umm ‘Atiyyah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered upon us when we were washing his daughter Umm Kulthum. He said: ‘Wash her three or five times, or more than that if you think you need to, with water and lote leaves, and put camphor or a little camphor in (the water) for the last washing. When you have finished, call for me.’ When we finished, we called him, and he gave his waist-wrapper to us and said: ‘Shroud her with it.’”

Hadith 1433
It was narrated that ‘Ali said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The Muslim has six courtesies due from the Muslim: He should greet him with Salam when he meets him; he should accept his invitation if he invites him; he should answer [by Yarhamuk-Allah (may Allah have mercy on you)] to him if he sneezes (and says Al- Hamdulillah); he should visit him if he falls sick; he should follow his funeral if he dies; and he should love for him what he loves for himself.”
