حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي نَمِرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ: بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ جُلُوسٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى جَمَلٍ، فَأَنَاخَهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، ثُمَّ عَقَلَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ: أَيُّكُمْ مُحَمَّدٌ؟ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَّكِئٌ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْهِمْ، قَالَ: فَقَالُوا: هَذَا الرَّجُلُ الْأَبْيَضُ الْمُتَّكِئُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ: يَا ابْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: قَدْ أَجَبْتُكَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، إِنِّي سَائِلُكَ وَمُشَدِّدٌ عَلَيْكَ فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ، فَلَا تَجِدَنَّ عَلَيَّ فِي نَفْسِكَ، فَقَالَ: سَلْ مَا بَدَا لَكَ، قَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ: نَشَدْتُكَ بِرَبِّكَ وَرَبِّ مَنْ قَبْلَكَ، آللَّهُ أَرْسَلَكَ إِلَى النَّاسِ كُلِّهِمْ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَأَنْشُدُكَ بِاللَّهِ، آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ فِي الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ؟، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَأَنْشُدُكَ بِاللَّهِ، آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تَصُومَ هَذَا الشَّهْرَ مِنَ السَّنَةِ؟، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَأَنْشُدُكَ بِاللَّهِ، آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ هَذِهِ الصَّدَقَةَ مِنْ أَغْنِيَائِنَا، فَتَقْسِمَهَا عَلَى فُقَرَائِنَا؟، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: آمَنْتُ بِمَا جِئْتَ بِهِ، وَأَنَا رَسُولُ مَنْ وَرَائِي مِنْ قَوْمِي ، وَأَنَا ضِمَامُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ أَخُو بَنِي سَعْدِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ.
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک دفعہ ہم مسجد نبوی میں بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ اتنے میں اونٹ پر سوار ایک شخص آیا، اور اسے مسجد میں بٹھایا، پھر اسے باندھ دیا، پھر پوچھنے لگا: تم میں محمد کون ہیں؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم لوگوں کے درمیان ٹیک لگائے ہوئے بیٹھے تھے، لوگوں نے کہا: یہ ہیں جو سفید رنگ والے، اور تکیہ لگائے بیٹھے ہیں، اس شخص نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہا: اے عبدالمطلب کے بیٹے! نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے کہا: ہاں، میں نے تمہاری بات سن لی ، تو اس شخص نے کہا: اے محمد! میں آپ سے ایک سوال کرنے والا ہوں، اور سوال میں سختی برتنے والا ہوں، تو آپ دل میں مجھ پر ناراض نہ ہوں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم جو چاہو پوچھو ، اس شخص نے کہا: میں آپ کو آپ کے رب کی قسم دیتا ہوں، اور آپ سے پہلے لوگوں کے رب کی قسم دیتا ہوں، کیا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو سب لوگوں کی جانب نبی بنا کر بھیجا ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یا اللہ! ہاں ، پھر اس شخص نے کہا: میں آپ کو اللہ کی قسم دیتا ہوں، کیا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو دن رات میں پانچ وقت نماز پڑھنے کا حکم دیا ہے؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یا اللہ! ہاں ، پھر اس شخص نے کہا: میں آپ کو اللہ کی قسم دیتا ہوں، کیا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو سال کے اس مہینہ میں روزہ رکھنے کا حکم دیا ہے؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یا اللہ! ہاں ، اس شخص نے کہا: میں آپ کو اللہ کی قسم دے کر پوچھتا ہوں: کیا اللہ نے آپ کو حکم دیا ہے کہ ہمارے مالداروں سے زکاۃ و صدقات لیں، اور اس کو ہمارے غریبوں میں تقسیم کریں؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یا اللہ! ہاں ، تو اس شخص نے کہا: میں آپ کی لائی ہوئی شریعت پہ ایمان لایا، اور میں اپنی قوم کے ان لوگوں کے لیے پیغام رساں کی حیثیت سے ہوں جو پیچھے رہ گئے ہیں، اور میں قبیلہ بنو سعد بن بکر کا ایک فرد ضمام بن ثعلبہ ہوں۔
It was narrated from Sharik bin ‘Abdullah bin Abu Namir that he heard Anas bin Malik say: “While we were sitting in the mosque, a man entered riding a camel; he made it kneel in the mosque, then he hobbled it and said to them: ‘Which of you is Muhammad?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was reclining among them, so they said: ‘This fair- skinned man who is reclining.’ The man said to him: ‘O son of ‘Abdul- Muttalib!’ The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘I am listening to you.’ The man said: O Muhammad! I am asking you and will be stern in asking, so do not bear any ill-feelings towards me.’ He said: ‘Ask whatever you think.’ The man said: ‘I adjure you by your Lord and the Lord of those who came before you, has Allah sent you to all of mankind?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.; He said: ‘I adjure you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to pray the five prayers each day and night?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.’ He said: ‘I adjure you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to fast this month of each year?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.’ He said: ‘I adjure you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to take this charity from our rich and distribute it among our poor?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.’ The man said: ‘I believe in what you have brought, and I am the envoy of my people who are behind me. I am Dimam bin Tha’labah, the brother of Banu Sa’d bin Bakr.’

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said the Takbir (Allah Akbar), he would remain silent between the Takbir and the recitation. I said: ‘May my father and mother be ransomed for you! I noticed that you are silent between the Takbir and the recitation; please tell me what you say then.’ He said: ‘I say: ‘Allahumma ba’id baini wa baina khatayaya kama ba’adta bainal-mashriqi wal-maghrib; Allahumma naqqini min khatayay kath-thawbil abyad minad- danas; Allahummaghsilni min khatayaya bil-ma’i waththalji wal-barad (O Allah, distance me from my sins as You have distanced the east from the west; O Allah purify me of my sins as a white garment is purified of dirt; O Allah, cleanse me of my sins with water and snow and hail).”

It was narrated from Ibn Jubair bin Mut’im that his father said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he started the prayer. He said: ‘Allahu Akbaru kabiran, Allahu Akbaru kabiran (Allah is the Most Great indeed),’ three times; ‘Al-hamdu Lillahi kathiran, al-hamdu Lillahi kathiran (Much praise is to Allah),’ three times; ‘Subhan Allahi bukratan wa asilan (Glory is to Allah morning and evening),’ three times; ‘Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minash-Shaitanir-rajim, min hamzihi wa nafkhihi wa nafthihi (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed Satan, from his madness, his poetry, and his pride).”
