حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَنَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، وَسُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ الثَّقَفِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ الْوَالِبِيِّ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ إِذَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا يَنْفَعُنِي اللَّهُ بِمَا شَاءَ مِنْهُ، وَإِذَا حَدَّثَنِي عَنْهُ غَيْرُهُ اسْتَحْلَفْتُهُ، فَإِذَا حَلَفَ صَدَّقْتُهُ، وَإِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي، وَصَدَقَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يُذْنِبُ ذَنْبًا، فَيَتَوَضَّأُ فَيُحْسِنُ الْوُضُوءَ، ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَقَالَ مِسْعَرٌ: ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي، وَيَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ، إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ .
علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ جب میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کوئی حدیث سنتا تو جتنا اللہ چاہتا اس سے مجھے نفع دیتا، اور جب کوئی اور مجھ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی حدیث بیان کرتا تو میں اسے قسم کھلاتا، جب وہ قسم کھا لیتا تو میں اس کی تصدیق کرتا، ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے مجھ سے حدیث بیان کی، وہ سچے تھے انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جو شخص کسی گناہ کا ارتکاب کرتا ہے، پھر اچھی طرح وضو کرتا ہے، اور دو رکعتیں پڑھتا ہے ، مسعر کی روایت میں ہے: پھر نماز پڑھتا ہے، اور اللہ تعالیٰ سے مغفرت طلب کرتا ہے تو اللہ اس کے گناہ بخش دیتا ہے ۔
It was narrated that ‘Ali bin Abu Talib said: “If I heard a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Allah benefitted me with it as much as He willed, and if I heard it from anyone else, I would ask him to swear me an oath, then if he swore an oath I would believe him. Abu Bakr told me and Abu Bakr spoke the truth that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘There is no man who commits a sin then he performs ablution and does it well, then he prays two Rak’ah,’ (one of the narrators) Mis’ar said: ‘then performs prayer and seeks the forgiveness of Allah, but Allah will forgive him.’

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said the Takbir (Allah Akbar), he would remain silent between the Takbir and the recitation. I said: ‘May my father and mother be ransomed for you! I noticed that you are silent between the Takbir and the recitation; please tell me what you say then.’ He said: ‘I say: ‘Allahumma ba’id baini wa baina khatayaya kama ba’adta bainal-mashriqi wal-maghrib; Allahumma naqqini min khatayay kath-thawbil abyad minad- danas; Allahummaghsilni min khatayaya bil-ma’i waththalji wal-barad (O Allah, distance me from my sins as You have distanced the east from the west; O Allah purify me of my sins as a white garment is purified of dirt; O Allah, cleanse me of my sins with water and snow and hail).”

It was narrated from Ibn Jubair bin Mut’im that his father said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he started the prayer. He said: ‘Allahu Akbaru kabiran, Allahu Akbaru kabiran (Allah is the Most Great indeed),’ three times; ‘Al-hamdu Lillahi kathiran, al-hamdu Lillahi kathiran (Much praise is to Allah),’ three times; ‘Subhan Allahi bukratan wa asilan (Glory is to Allah morning and evening),’ three times; ‘Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minash-Shaitanir-rajim, min hamzihi wa nafkhihi wa nafthihi (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed Satan, from his madness, his poetry, and his pride).”
