حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ سَيَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَنِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَجُلًا ضَرِيرَ الْبَصَرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ادْعُ اللَّهَ لِي أَنْ يُعَافِيَنِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ شِئْتَ أَخَّرْتُ لَكَ وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ شِئْتَ دَعَوْتُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ادْعُهْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ فَيُحْسِنَ وُضُوءَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَدْعُوَ بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ وَأَتَوَجَّهُ إِلَيْكَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَا مُحَمَّدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنِّي قَدْ تَوَجَّهْتُ بِكَ إِلَى رَبِّي فِي حَاجَتِي هَذِهِ لِتُقْضَى اللَّهُمَّ شَفِّعْهُ فِيَّ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاق:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ.

عثمان بن حنیف رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   ایک نابینا نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر عرض کیا: آپ میرے لیے اللہ تعالیٰ سے صحت و عافیت کی دعا فرما دیجئیے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اگر تم چاہو تو میں تمہارے لیے آخرت کی بھلائی چاہوں جو بہتر ہے، اور اگر تم چاہو تو میں تمہارے لیے دعا کروں، اس شخص نے کہا: آپ دعا کر دیجئیے، تب آپ نے اس کو حکم دیا کہ وہ اچھی طرح وضو کرے، اور دو رکعت نماز پڑھے، اس کے بعد یہ دعا کرے: «اللهم إني أسألك وأتوجه إليك بمحمد نبي الرحمة يا محمد إني قد توجهت بك إلى ربي في حاجتي هذه لتقضى اللهم فشفعه في» اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں، اور تیری طرف توجہ کرتا ہوں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ جو نبی رحمت ہیں، اے محمد! میں نے آپ کے ذریعہ سے اپنے رب کی جانب اس کام میں توجہ کی تاکہ پورا ہو جائے، اے اللہ! تو میرے حق میں ان کی شفاعت قبول فرما ۔ ابواسحاق نے کہا: یہ حدیث صحیح ہے۔

It was narrated from ‘Uthman bin Hunaif that a blind man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: “Pray to Allah to heal me.” He said: “If you wish to store your reward for the Hereafter, that is better, or if you wish, I will supplicate for you.” He said: “Supplicate.” So he told him to perform ablution and do it well, and to pray two Rak’ah, and to say this supplication: “Allahumma inni as’aluka wa atawajjahu ilaika bimuhammadin nabiyyir-rahmah. Ya Muhammadu inni qad tawajjahtu bika ila rabbi fi hajati hadhihi lituqda. Allahumma fashaffi’hu fiya (O Allah, I ask of You and I turn my face towards You by virtue of the intercession of Muhammad the Prophet of mercy. O Muhammad, I have turned to my Lord by virtue of your intercession concerning this need of mine so that it may be met. O Allah, accept his intercession concerning me)”

Muhammad bin ‘Amr bin ‘Ata’ said: “I heard Abu Humaid As-Sa’idi say: ‘When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up for prayer, he would face the prayer direction, raise his hands, and say: “Allahu Akbar (Allah is Most Great).”

It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to start his prayer by saying: ‘Subhanaka Allahumma wa bi hamdika, wa tabarakas-muka, wa ta’ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghairuka (Glory and praise be to You, O Allah, blessed be Your Name and exalted be Your majesty, none has the right to be worshipped but you).”

Hadith 805

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said the Takbir (Allah Akbar), he would remain silent between the Takbir and the recitation. I said: ‘May my father and mother be ransomed for you! I noticed that you are silent between the Takbir and the recitation; please tell me what you say then.’ He said: ‘I say: ‘Allahumma ba’id baini wa baina khatayaya kama ba’adta bainal-mashriqi wal-maghrib; Allahumma naqqini min khatayay kath-thawbil abyad minad- danas; Allahummaghsilni min khatayaya bil-ma’i waththalji wal-barad (O Allah, distance me from my sins as You have distanced the east from the west; O Allah purify me of my sins as a white garment is purified of dirt; O Allah, cleanse me of my sins with water and snow and hail).”

It was narrated from ‘Aishah that when the Prophet (ﷺ) started Salat he would say: “Subhanak Allahumma wa bi hamdika, wa tabarakas- muka wa ta’ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghayruk (Glory and praise is to You, O Allah, blessed is Your Name and exalted is Your majesty, none has the right to be worshipped but You).”

Hadith 807

It was narrated from Ibn Jubair bin Mut’im that his father said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he started the prayer. He said: ‘Allahu Akbaru kabiran, Allahu Akbaru kabiran (Allah is the Most Great indeed),’ three times; ‘Al-hamdu Lillahi kathiran, al-hamdu Lillahi kathiran (Much praise is to Allah),’ three times; ‘Subhan Allahi bukratan wa asilan (Glory is to Allah morning and evening),’ three times; ‘Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minash-Shaitanir-rajim, min hamzihi wa nafkhihi wa nafthihi (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed Satan, from his madness, his poetry, and his pride).”
