أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قال: حَدَّثَنَا الْعَطَّافُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، قال: دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، فَقَالَ: صَلَّيْتُمْ قُلْنَا: نَعَمْ قَالَ: يَا جَارِيَةُ هَلُمِّي لِي وَضُوءًا مَا صَلَّيْتُ وَرَاءَ إِمَامٍ أَشْبَهَ صَلَاةً بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ إِمَامِكُمْ هَذَا قَالَ زَيْدٌ: وَكَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ يُتِمُّ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ وَيُخَفِّفُ الْقِيَامَ وَالْقُعُودَ.
زید بن اسلم کہتے ہیں کہ ہم انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے پوچھا: تم لوگوں نے نماز پڑھ لی؟ ہم نے کہا: جی ہاں! تو انہوں نے کہا: بیٹی! میرے لیے وضو کا پانی لاؤ، میں نے کسی امام کے پیچھے نماز نہیں پڑھی جس کی نماز تمہارے اس امام ۱؎ کی نماز سے بڑھ کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی نماز سے مشابہت رکھتی ہو، زید کہتے ہیں: عمر بن عبدالعزیز رکوع اور سجدے مکمل کرتے اور قیام و قعود ہلکا کرتے تھے۔
It was narrated that Zaid bin Aslam said: We entered upon Anas bin Malik and he said: 'Have you prayed?' We said: 'Yes.' He asid: 'O slave girl, bring me water for Wudhu! I have never prayed behind any Imam whose prayer more closely resembles the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) than this Imam of yours.' Zaid said: Umar bin Abdul Aziz used to complete the bowing and prostration (without rushing) and lighten the standing and sitting.

It was narrated that Ibn Umar said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he said the opening Takbir of the prayer, raise his hands until they were level with his shoulders. When he said the Takbir before bowing he did likewise, and when he said: 'Sami Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him),' he did likewise, then he said: 'Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (Our Lord, to You be praise).' But he did not do that when he prostrated or when he raised his head from prostration.
