أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قال: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قال: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْزَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قال: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا وَإِذَا قَرَأَ فَأَنْصِتُوا قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ: كَانَ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ يَقُولُ هُوَ ثِقَةٌ يَعْنِي مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ.
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: امام بنایا ہی اس لیے گیا ہے کہ اس کی اقتداء کی جائے، تو جب وہ اللہ اکبر کہے تو تم بھی اللہ اکبر کہو، اور جب وہ قرآت کرے تو تم خاموش رہو ۔ ابوعبدالرحمٰن ( نسائی ) کہتے ہیں: مخرمی کہتے تھے: وہ یعنی محمد بن سعد الانصاری ثقہ ہیں۔
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The Imam is appointed to be followed, so when he says the takbir, say the takbir, and when he recites, be silent.'

It was narrated that Ibn Umar said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he said the opening Takbir of the prayer, raise his hands until they were level with his shoulders. When he said the Takbir before bowing he did likewise, and when he said: 'Sami Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him),' he did likewise, then he said: 'Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (Our Lord, to You be praise).' But he did not do that when he prostrated or when he raised his head from prostration.
