أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: رَأَى عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام رَجُلًا يَسْرِقُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: أَسَرَقْتَ ؟ قَالَ: لَا، وَاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ، قَالَ عِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام: آمَنْتُ بِاللَّهِ وَكَذَّبْتُ بَصَرِي .
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”عیسیٰ بن مریم علیہ السلام نے ایک شخص کو چوری کرتے دیکھا، تو اس سے پوچھا: کیا تم نے چوری کی؟ وہ بولا: نہیں، اس اللہ کی قسم جس کے سوا کوئی حقیقی معبود نہیں ۱؎، عیسیٰ علیہ السلام نے کہا: میں نے یقین کیا اللہ پر اور جھوٹا سمجھا اپنی آنکھ کو۔
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Isa bin Mariam, peace be upon him, saw a man stealing, and said to him: Are you stealing? He said: No, by Allah besides Whom there is no other God! 'Isa, peace be upon him, said: I believe in Allah and I disbelieve my eyes.'

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] stopped delivering his Khutbah and turned to me. A chair was brought, and I think its legs were of iron. The Messenger of Allah [SAW] sat down on it and started to teach me what Allah has taught him, then he went and completed his Khutbah.'
