The Book of Seeking Refuge with Allah

عباد بن شرحبیل رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں اپنے چچاؤں کے ساتھ مدینے آیا تو وہاں کے ایک باغ میں گیا اور ایک بالی ( توڑ کر ) مسل ڈالی، اتنے میں باغ کا مالک آ گیا، اس نے میری چادر چھین لی اور مجھے مارا، میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر آپ سے اس کے خلاف مدد چاہی، چنانچہ آپ نے اس شخص کو بلا بھیجا۔ لوگ اسے لے کر آئے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”اس اقدام پر تمہیں کس چیز نے اکسایا؟“ وہ بولا: اللہ کے رسول! یہ میرے باغ میں آیا اور بالی توڑ کر مسل دی، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”نہ تو تم نے اسے بتایا جب کہ وہ ناسمجھ تھا، نہ تم نے اسے کھلایا جبکہ وہ بھوکا تھا، اس کی چادر اسے لوٹا دو“، اور مجھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک وسق یا آدھا وسق دینے کا حکم دیا ۱؎۔

It was narrated that 'Abbad bin Shurahbil said: I came to Al-Madinah with my paternal uncles and entered one of its gardens, where I rubbed an ear of grain (to take some grains). The owner of the garden came, took my cloak and hit me. I came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and sought his help against him. He sent for the man and they brought him. He said: 'What made you do that?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, he entered my garden and took one of the ears of grain and rubbed it.' The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'You did not teach him if he was ignorant, nor feed him if he was hungry. Give him back his cloak.' And the Messenger of Allah [SAW] ordered me with a Wasq or half a Wasq.
