أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْهَبِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ عَرْفَجَةَ بْنِ أَسْعَدَ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: وَكَانَ جَدُّهُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَنَّهُ رَأَى جَدَّهُ أُصِيبَ أَنْفُهُ يَوْمَ الْكُلَابِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، قَالَ: فَاتَّخَذَ أَنْفًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، فَأَنْتَنَ عَلَيْهِ، فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَهُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ .
عبدالرحمٰن بن طرفہ کہتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے دیکھا کہ جاہلیت میں جنگ کلاب کے دن ان کے دادا ( عرفجہ بن اسد رضی اللہ عنہ ) کی ناک کٹ گئی، تو انہوں نے چاندی کی ناک بنوائی، پھر اس میں بدبو آ گئی تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں حکم دیا کہ وہ سونے کی ناک بنوا لیں۔
It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahman bin Tarafah, from 'Arafah bin As'ad bin Karib, who was his grandfather- saying that he saw his grandfather, and he said: His nose had been cut off at the battle of Al-Kulab during the Jahiliyyah, so he wore a nose made of silver, but it began to rot on him, so the Prophet [SAW] told him to wear a nose made of gold.
