أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق الْأَزْرَقُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْخُذُ كِرَاءَ الْأَرْضِ حَتَّى حَدَّثَهُ رَافِعٌ، عَنْ بَعْضِ عُمُومَتِهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: نَهَى عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْأَرْضِ ، فَتَرَكَهَا بَعْدُ. رَوَاهُ أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ رَافِعٍ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ عُمُومَتَهُ.
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ وہ زمین کا کرایہ لیتے تھے، یہاں تک کہ رافع رضی اللہ عنہ نے اپنے کسی چچا سے روایت کرتے ہوئے ان سے حدیث بیان کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے زمین کرائیے پر دینے سے منع فرمایا ہے۔ چنانچہ اس کے بعد انہوں نے اسے ترک کر دیا۔ اسے ایوب نے نافع سے، انہوں نے رافع رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کیا ہے اور ان کے چچاؤں کا تذکرہ نہیں کیا ہے۔
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that he used to take rent for land until Rafi' narrated to him, from some of his paternal uncles, that the Messenger of Allah forbade leasing land. So he stopped doing that afterward.

He said: 'Do not hold me to account for what has passed.'
