أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ خَالِدًا يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الشَّامِيّ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ السِّمْطِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَسَةَ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا عَمْرُو بْنَ عَبَسَةَ، حَدِّثْنَا حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، لَيْسَ فِيهِ نِسْيَانٌ وَلَا تَنَقُّصٌ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: مَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، فَبَلَغَ الْعَدُوَّ، أَخْطَأَ أَوْ أَصَابَ، كَانَ لَهُ كَعِدْلِ رَقَبَةٍ، وَمَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً مُسْلِمَةً، كَانَ فِدَاءُ كُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهُ، عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ، وَمَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ .
شرحبیل بن سمط کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے عمرو بن عبسہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: آپ مجھ سے کوئی ایسی حدیث بیان کیجئے جسے آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنی ہو۔ اور اس میں بھول چوک اور کمی و بیشی کا شائبہ تک نہ ہو۔ تو انہوں نے کہا: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے: ”جس نے اللہ کے راستے میں تیر چلایا، دشمن کے قریب پہنچا، قطع نظر اس کے کہ تیر دشمن کو لگایا نشانہ خطا کر گیا، تو اسے ایک غلام آزاد کرنے کے ثواب کے برابر ثواب ملے گا، اور جس نے ایک مسلمان غلام آزاد کیا تو غلام کا ہر عضو ( آزاد کرنے والے کے ) ہر عضو کے لیے جہنم کی آگ سے نجات کا فدیہ بن جائے گا، اور جو شخص اللہ کی راہ میں ( لڑتے لڑتے ) بوڑھا ہو گیا، تو یہ بڑھاپا قیامت کے دن اس کے لیے نور بن جائے گا“۔
It was narrated that Shurahbil bin As-Simt said: I said: 'O 'Amr bin 'Abasah! Tell us a Hadith that you heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) without forgetting or omitting anything.' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah, and it reaches the enemy, whether it misses or hits, it will be as if he freed slave. Whoever frees a believing slave, that will be a ransom for him, limb by limb, from the Fire of Hell. Whoever develops a gray hair in the cause of Allah, it will be light for him on the Day of Resurrection.

Hadith 3087
Narrated It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: “When the Prophet was expelled from Makkah, Abu Bakr said to him: ‘They have driven out their Prophet, verily to Allah we belong and to Him we return. They are surely doomed.’ Then it was revealed: ‘Permission to fight (against disbelievers) is given to those (believers) who are fought against, because they have been wronged; and surely, Allah is able to give them (believers) victory.’ Then I knew that there would be fighting.” Ibn Abbas said: “This is the first Verse that was revealed concerning fighting.”
