زہری کہتے ہیں ہمیں یہ بات پہنچی ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب اس جمرے کو کنکری مارتے جو منیٰ کی قربان گاہ کے قریب ہے، تو اسے سات کنکریاں مارتے، اور جب جب کنکری مارتے اللہ اکبر کہتے، پھر ذرا آگے بڑھتے، اور اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اٹھا کر قبلہ رو کھڑے ہو کر دعا کرتے اور کافی دیر تک کھڑے رہتے، پھر جمرہ ثانیہ کے پاس آتے، اور اسے بھی سات کنکریاں مارتے اور جب جب کنکری مارتے اللہ اکبر کہتے۔ پھر بائیں جانب مڑتے بیت اللہ کی طرف منہ کر کے ہاتھ اٹھا کر کھڑے ہو کر دعا کرتے۔ پھر اس جمرے کے پاس آتے، جو عقبہ کے پاس ہے اور اسے سات کنکریاں مارتے اور اس کے پاس ( دعا کے لیے ) کھڑے نہیں ہوتے۔ زہری کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے سالم بن عبداللہ سے یہ حدیث سنی، وہ اپنے والد عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت کرتے ہیں، اور ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما بھی اسے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں۔

It was narrated that Az-Zuhri said: We heard that when the Messenger of Allah stoned the Jamrah he stoned it with seven pebbles, saying the Takbir every time he threw a pebble. Then he came in front of it ans stood facing the Qiblah, raising his hands and supplicating fro a long time. Then he came to the second Jamrah and stoned it stoned it with seven pebbles, saying the Takbir every time he threw a pebble. Then he moved to the left and stood facing the Qiblah, raising his hands and supplicating for a long time. Then he came to the Jamrat that is at al 'Aqabah and stoned ti with seven pebbles, but he did not stand there. Az-Zuhri said: I heard Salim narrted this from his father, from the Prophetk and Ibn'Umar used to do that.
